POW#6

We need a new town loony…IMMEDIATELY! But he has to be able to meet our town’s qualifications or we’ll just run him right out of town. Well we need a crazy in this town for many reasons. A loony would bring back the joy, amusement, laughter, good luck, and daily dose of weird that we unfortunately lost after our previous town loony left to go to college. Can you believe it? College! How absurd a thing for a crazy person to do. Our next applicant has to be able to sing, dance, crack jokes off on the fly, and of all things this person needs to be…WEIRD!!! For being our town’s loony, he or she shall be awarded handsomely. The loony shall be paid in kindness, and that’s it.

I actually have three pets in my possession. But if I had to choose one as my favorite it would have to be my one and only dog, Kody. He is a Siberian husky with pure blue eyes and big fury ears. I like him the most out of all my pets, but that sounds a bit mean even though it’s the truth. Good thing my other pets can’t understand this…ha ha ha! I like him because he is really energetic, a very fast runner, but also a very mellow dog at the same time. You don’t see that all too often in dogs, or people for that matter. That’s why I consider him my favorite pet I’ve ever had!

POW#3

The commercial that I chose was a Chloraseptic commercial about a supposedly throat soothing pill. During the commercial it showed an average family outside in the snow a lot, with the mother discussing the Chloraseptic product. She said that sore throats run in families and now hers. This leads me to believe that the propaganda technique used was “plain folks”. Despite this I don’t believe the product will work as well as they say it will. This is because a lot of commercials have done this kind of thing before and the products don’t work out. So I’m going to need some more convincing before I’ll buy it!

This is a picture of the post-storm clouds in the sky. I was coming home from a family reunion in Iowa when I took this picture. Most of the trip there had been very boring and stressful. Plus for most of the time when my mom, my step-dad, and I were there it had been raining. But the day of our departure back to Kansas, it had finally stopped raining. When I gazed up at the heavens above, I noticed that the clouds were letting a sliver of light shine over them. As I looked upon them I got a feeling of serenity, calmness, and even a sense of peace. It was as if it was a sign of optimism, a sign that that time of stress and boredom was finally over. Perhaps a time of better happenings was about to begin. So I decided to take a picture so I could always look back on that day. The strange thing was that the next few weeks were filled with a lot of fun and were completely stress free! That is why I have named this picture “holy clouds”.

If I was the lawyer of that unfairly punished student, this is what my arguement would be:
My client should be allowed to be readmitted to this establishment! You should reconsider her for many reasons. For one, is there anything in your "rule book" that says that a student can't document one of her school experiences with a picture, I don't think so! Second, the teacher didn't in anyway unadvice the taking of a photo. Third, people students should be aloud to post whatever they want on facebook. They are adults after all, and have the right to do so as they please. So in conclusion, my client was wrongfully dismissed and should be readmitted as soon as possible.

POW #1: The Secrets of the Name...Kyle

My dad would always tell me, "Kyle, your name means something special and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!" and I did just that. I always wondered what my name meant, and now I do. The name "kyle" has multiple origins from which it is derived. But they all generally meant narrow, channel, straight, and (my favorite) handsome! It's very unclear how I was named, because I've been given two different stories from both my parents (divorced). One was that I was named after some actor in a movie that my mom likes, i think it was terminater or something. But back on topic, my dad on the other hand says that I was named after a really good soccer player (my dad really likes soccer...as do I). There's always been a big dispute about the truth, but I as far as i'm concerned i'm glad that I was named what I am named.
